Problems arise when you are excited to join your friends on a hiking getaway but you would not know what to wear. But fret no more because there is a simple rule in a hiking outfit – overdressed is better than underdressed. This means that one should really dress up properly according to the acceptable hiking outfit and not just put on any kind of clothing as a substitute. And the first step in avoiding being underdressed for a hiking is to step in a mountain outdoors shop or center. Always remember that hiking clothes are made to endure rough activities like hiking. They provide the comfort and safety when one goes to the outdoors. The inner apparel should be made of the most comfortable and light material. Meanwhile the outer apparel should protect the hiker from cold temperatures, rain, and even getting cuts from trees and shrubs. This is why the outer apparel is usually bulky and made from heavier materials. But of course there are those that provide the same safety but made from lighter materials and these are usually more expensive.

Finally, also remember that the hiking outfit would not be complete without the proper hiking gear. Never use your day-to-day backpack for a hiking trip. A hiking backpack is a necessity and cannot be substituted by a day-to-day backpack. Always remember that the things brought in a hiking trip are not like the ones contained in a backpack. Hiking backpacks provide more security on the things and are made to fit comfortably while a person is hiking. Therefore, invest in the proper apparel and gear for comfort and safety reasons. Do not be underdressed and do not let your outfit ruin the fun in the activity called hiking.
